The last time Pellington was at Sundance was 11 years ago, when he was screening his first film, Going All the Way. Since then, he's made critically acclaimed movies like Arlington Road, The Mothman Prophecies and a slew of notable music videos. He's also responsible for the 3D concert film on megaband U2, which was another big ticket flick at Sundance this year. Quest to find lost dog reaches one year
Although English Springer Spaniels are bred as gun dogs and traditionally are used for flushing and retrieving game, Murphy was frightened of loud noises and "was always a family pet." But sometimes, instinct takes over. "All of a sudden, his nose went down and he went flying over a ridge, going Mach 2," Miles says. Certain he'd come back, Miles and her husband stayed on the trail for hours. About three hours after he first disappeared, Miles heard her dog's distinctive bark -- but never caught sight of him, though he was wearing a fluorescent orange vest. She and her husband stayed on the trail until midnight, calling, looking, hoping against hope that Murphy would return. "We were devastated," she says. .
